Stellar Black

Stellar Black is a new dark color with a slightly warm hue. Its satin finish enhances this dark monohedron with thousands of reflective micro-speckles, like distant stars in the night sky. Classy!

3D printed

The monohedron is manufactured using the innovative principle of 3D printing technology by depositing successive thin layers of a thermoplastic suitable for this additive manufacturing method. As each layer is only a few hundred microns thick, manufacturing time is fairly long. Each monohedron then requires several stages of manual post-processing, including sanding, waterproofing, and drying.

Radial striations

The curved shape of the monohedron well catches ambiant light, creating a play of light and shadow that constantly chase each other and change according to the time of day. A multitude of fine stria radiate along its shell-like surface, further underlining the object's exclusive and original character.

Durable

After careful visual inspection and manual post-processing of its surface finish, each monohedron receives a coat of colorless matte waterproofing post-treatment to protect it from dirt and water splashes.*

Balanced

The internal structure of the monohedron is partially weighted with a dense material located in its lower part. As a consequence, when placed on a piece of furniture, the object stands upright “magically” on its own, despite the seemingly unstable roundness of its base. If you push on it lightly, it oscillates and returns to its upright position by itself, just like these 'Roly-Poly' wobbling toys! This clever solution is not only aesthetically and functionally pleasing, it also adds quality thanks to the additional weight provided by the ballast.

Once the ballast has been inserted and secured inside the object, the base is permanently sealed with a rectangular piece bearing the UNILATER mark, which follows the curved geometry of the object without protruding, flush with the surface. This seal of authenticity is located on the underside of the monohedron and remains invisible when the object is placed on a piece of furniture.
